Applications in some steel plants in China have shown that when the target temperature of tundish is 1595℃, without electromagnetic induction heating, the temperature of molten steel in continuous casting tundish fluctuated within ±8℃. And with the use of the electromagnetic induction heating, the temperature of molten steel in the continuous casting tundish maintained at ±3℃. In the whole casting process, low superheat constant temperature casting was basically realized.
This technology is of great importance for improving the equiaxed crystal ratio of the cast slab, preventing nozzle clogging and increasing the casting speed.
